Key Stage 4

Janus Learning offers a range of qualifications to suit the needs of different students and in line with Department of Education guidelines:

  • BTEC Technical Award Level 1 or 2 in Sport, Health & Social Care or Art & Design
  • Functional Skills Maths at levels E3 - L2
  • Functional Skills English at levels E3 - L2
  • Open College Network West Midland Employability and Development at Level 1 or 2, including PHSE, personal development,  employability and many other vocational tasters
  • Bespoke courses such as GCSE preparation to complement school pathways

Janus Learning is able to accept referrals from schools, behaviour partnership panels, local Councils and Social Services.  Referrals are initially discussed with Susie and Jacqui to assess suitability and space available.  The student would then be offered a site visit to meet tutors and other students and to get an idea of what they might like to study with us.  A three week taster period is then completed before the student's timetable is confirmed.

We are happy to attend PEP meetings and to contribute to the wider learning package provided for each individual student including writing reports and liasing with outside agencies.  We can provide confidential space for our students to meet other professionals during their placement, and are able to offer additional support to them if this can facilitate their access to external assistance.

Transport to and from Oak Tree House is the responsibility of the referring agency, with many students transported by taxi.  Any additonal travel required during the day (to a work experience placement for example) would be carried out by our fully insured

tutors.

A light lunch is provided by Janus Learning for all students.

Places are invoiced per student, per day which includes all equipment and accreditation costs.  Please contact us for costing details and  further information.
